About NET Manager NET Manager is a program that allows you to manage networked computers. The main screen has a list of networked computers which are represented by icons. Simply select a computer to perform various actions on it. The program currently supports the ability to ping, send messages, map shares and observe/control networked computers from the list. The concept for this program came from the need to manage many networked computers and get a summary of what is happening on each one with as few clicks as possible. NET Manager attempts to provide this and I have found it very useful myself. If you are a network administrator, you can simply select one of the computers and click Observe to see what the user on that computer is doing or you can take control of it if you want to perform any maintenance tasks. You can also click map drive you you need quick access to the remote computer's local disk. NET Manager has many features that allow you to manage a network of computers quickly and easily. I know that there are many programs available for this purpose but they have the tendency to cost a lot of money. On the other end of the scale, NET Manager is completely free and is likely to remain so. NET Manager has been tested only with Windows NT/2000/XP computers as these are all I have. This does not mean that the program will not work with Windows 9x/Me machines, it simply means that it is untested with these OS versions so may exhibit some problems. Feedback on using NET Manager with these OS versions would be appreciated. I am constantly trying to improve NET Manager however to do this I need to know what you think. Feel free to email any suggestions/comments. Also, keep checking the download section for the latest version or use the integrated update feature. |
